This module allows you to insert Google Analytics tracking with auto SSL detection in your Joomla site as a module.

Very quick to install and configure, you can have Google Analytics up and running in less than five minutes.

Paste the Google Analytics ID for your site into the parameters; set Display module title to *no*, choose a module location, and display the module on *all* pages.

The module supports both the older 'urchin.js' and the current ga.js code. The default is ga.js and can be left unless you know you are running the older code.

The tracking code should be inserted just above the closing </body> tag of your page. Google recommends this location, as it will not slow down you visitor experience of your site because all the page has been loaded before the tracking code is activated.
You should therefore publish this module in the last module position position of your template, often 'footer'.

You can also force SSL or non-SSL call to Google tracker instead of  automatic detection. Beware that SSL connection is always notably slower.

This is a re-write for Joomla 1.5
